Brief Biography

After 23 years as a high school social studies teacher and four years as a library media specialist, Jacquelyn Whiting is currently an instructional coach and coordinator of professional learning. She also is a member of the SWE17 Google Certified Innovator cohort. Her pedagogy is motivated by a desire to empower student voice and personalize the learning experience for all students whether through design thinking, problem and project-based learning, or storytelling.

Jacquelyn is also the co-author of “News Literacy: The Keys to Combating Fake News” and the upcoming "Student-Centered Learning by Design." She is the Information Literacy editor for School Library Connection where she writes about the intersection of information literacy with other education topics including social-emotional learning, student engagement and issues of equity.
