Alicia Simba (she/her) is a kindergarten teacher at Prescott School in the Oakland Unified School District in Oakland, California. She has worked in early childhood education for the past seven years, including elementary schools, day care programs, laboratory classrooms and a Head Start program. Simba runs a weekly newsletter — an education — on Substack and has been published in Education Weekly, EdSource, Blavity and Barnard Magazine. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Barnard College in 2019 and her master’s degree in elementary education from Stanford University in 2020.
