Coursera Boosts Series C Round to $61 Million, Thanks to Singaporean Investor

Oct 27, 2015

COURSERA, the Mountain View, CA provider of massive open online courses, has formally wrapped up its Series C round. The second closing brings the round total to $61.1 million (up from the original $49.5 million), with the addition of EDBI, the investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board. Two Singaporean universities have offered more than a dozen online courses through Coursera, according to the press release.

Other investors in Coursera’s Series C round include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, GSV Asset Management, International Finance Corporation, Learn Capital, Times Internet and New Enterprises Associates, which led the deal.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this article quoted Coursera's original raise as $60M. This has been updated to the correct figure of $49.5M
