Michael West serves as both a Technology Facilitator and Instructional Resource Teacher at Wendell Middle School, part of the Wake County Public School System in North Carolina. In addition, he serves as a Social Studies PLC Facilitator for Teach for America in Eastern North Carolina. Previously, he taught Social Studies in Vance County at Eaton-Johnson Middle where he was named Teacher of the Year in 2013. He is also member of the REALITY community (Reality Pro ’13), a leadership development organization that seeks to connect and leverage individuals in the educational reform movement. Additionally, he’s particularly interested in identity development and social justice in education.
