Brief Biography

Jonathan Hasak is a workforce development and education policy expert and Senior Director of Scalable Solutions at Year Up, a national job training organization with 25 sites across the country. He helps develop strategies, partnerships, and solutions that can provide young adults disconnected from the economic mainstream with easy-to-navigate career pathways to good paying jobs.

Jonathan began his career as a behavior interventionist in the Los Angeles Unified School District. He taught English in Tel Aviv before joining Teach For America in the Bay Area. During his three years at the Oakland Unified School District, he worked as a special education teacher, coordinator of intervention, and teacher on special assignment. Jonathan also worked for the Office of Data and Accountability in the Boston Public Schools, where he provided professional development and data analysis to school leaders.

Prior to joining Year Up, Jonathan worked as an Associate Director for the Metro North Regional Employment Board where he oversaw youth programs in 20 cities and towns in Massachusetts. He earned his M.A. in Education Policy & Management at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and his B.A. from Bard College in Literature and Creative Writing.
