After earning a degree in Information Systems and starting his career in the Silicon Valley, Grant Smith became a coding teacher in Arizona. Then, in 2014, he led the district wide implementation of coding classes for all students at every grade level (K-8) in the Avondale Elementary School District. In 2015 he won the Digital Innovation in Learning Administrator Trailblazer Award. He now works as a no-cost consultant, helping districts implement CS for All initiatives with a focus on training teachers and curriculum development. His work is sponsored by a generous grant through the software company, Board Docs.
