LET’S RIDE: Kango, a San Francisco-based ridesharing and childcare services app, has raised $3.6 million in a Series A round. School bus operator National Express led the round. As part of the deal, National Express CEO Emeritus David Duke has joined the Kango board.
Founded in 2012, Kango will use the money toward expanding its service beyond the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas, according to a statement Friday. It claims to have served thousands of parents in California and partners with schools, camps and youth organizations to shuttle children to and from activities.
ZUM, another rideshare-style company for schoolchildren, raised $40 million earlier this year.
