May 15, 2019

ROCK 'EM, SOC 'EM: Acadsoc, a Hong Kong-based online tutoring platform, has raised 100 million yuan (about US $15 million) as part of a series C2 round led by GF Xinde Investment.

Founded in 2011, Acadsoc claims it has more than 10,000 tutors globally serving more than 100,000 students, in subjects such as math, English and chemistry. According to EqualOcean, a Chinese tech industry research group, the funding will support the development of its AI technology that matches tutors with students, and improve its teacher recruiting and management systems.

In February, Acadsoc raised another $15 million in a round led by IDG and Shenzhen Capital Group.
