GET WITH THE PROGRAM: Dubai-based edtech company Coded Minds closed a fundraising round for 10 million dirham (about US $2.72 million) to grow its project-based programming courses for children ages 4 and older, according to Gulf Today.
Coded Minds plans to use the money to improve its course offerings, which include teaching children to develop virtual reality games and how to edit video. The company also plans to expand its footprint across the Middle East region, in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and possibly Pakistan. The money came from Alarabi Investments, a Dubai-based venture capital firm. The firm has become a minority shareholder as part of the deal.
With this fundraise, Coded Minds claims a value of 40 million dirham (about US $10.89 million).
