The St. Petersburg, Fla.-based startup has raised $1 million in a Series A round from angel investors including Jeffrey Vinik, Ronald Schlosser (former Executive Chairman of McGraw-Hill Education), and 500 Mobile Collective. Founded in 2014, Check I’m Here aims to help universities improve engagement and retention through tools that manage, track and analyze student participation in campus events and organizations. The startup boasts more than 350,000 student users across 80 institutions in 30 states and three countries.
