READCUBE has acquired Papers, a digital reference manager tool for academic papers developed by Springer Nature, a science research publisher. Terms of the purchase were not announced. Based in Boston, MA, ReadCube offers tools designed to help students and scholars cite, annotate and otherwise organize articles from research journals. The company also works with academic publishers to make their content more easily accessible.
