​Michael has taught high school cinematic arts, broadcast journalism and photography in Los Angeles for 16 years.

Brief Biography

Michael has taught high school cinematic arts, broadcast journalism and photography in Los Angeles for 16 years. His students have produced award-winning short films and documentaries, that deal with topics like former gang members in Los Angeles and the effects of landmines in Cambodia. He feels that our biggest responsibility as educators is to encourage risk-taking and empower our students to make a difference in our communities. Michael is a nationally award-winning educator who speaks at national conferences on journalism and technology integration, and is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google for Education Certified Innovator, and PBS LearningMedia Lead Innovator.
