GitHub Offers Students Free Access to Popular Developer Tools

Oct 7, 2014

GIT' IT WHILE IT LASTS: GitHub, a popular online repository for sharing code and collaborating on open source projects, is offering students free access to some of the most popular developer tools through the GitHub Student Developer Pack. Students over the age of 13 and with a verifiable ID and proof of enrollment are eligible to get 14 tools, including Unreal Engine, a game development tool used for many AAA titles, at no cost. GitHub's not just for programmers, either; this beginner's guide from ReadWrite shows how any "knowledge worker" (anyone who uses a computer) can "Git" to work.
