Rotation Model
Rotation Model
A blended learning program where students rotate on a fixed schedule between learning online and learning with a teacher in a traditional classroom setup.
Overview

Model is essentially half-way between a traditional classroom and an entirely virtual experience, where students rotate on a fixed schedule between learning online in a one-to-one, self-paced environment and spending time with a teacher or traditional classroom experience.

Innosight Institute outlines four major types of rotation models:

  1. Station-Rotation Model
  2. Lab-Rotation Model
  3. Flipped-Classroom Model
  4. Individual-Rotation Model

See Innosight Institute's white paper "Classifying K-12 Blended Learning" for a full description of these and other blended learning models.
