Rhode Island Tech for Schools Summit
An event in Rhode Island that brings together educators and entrepreneurs to test edtech products and offer constructive feedback.
Overview

On Saturday, October 5, 2013, EdSurge teamed with the Highlander Institute and the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) to host the “EdSurge Tech for Schools Summit: Rhode Island 2013” at RIDE’s Annual Technology Conference (here’s the schedule). The Summit was part of RIDE’s day-long conference about using technology in education, entitled: "Innovation Powered by Technology: Cultivating Quality."

The EdSurge Tech for Schools Summit brought together technology companies and teachers in the same room, with the goal of letting teachers test products without marketing or purchasing expectations. Teachers, administrators, and edtech entrepreneurs engaged in dialogue and exchanged product feedback.

Twenty-three companies showcased the latest versions of their products through short presentations and demos. Products ranged from content-specific products (like literacy-based Gobstopper) to efficiency and collaboration tools (like digital student work organizer Three Ring).

More information about the event including how to get access to free trials is located here.
