The education industry has plenty of advocacy groups that support and campaign for specific education-related issues.

Among Silicon Valley technologists, TechNet has been a long-time technology-policy advocacy group. It was founded in 1997. According to its site: "TechNet’s mission is to serve as the voice and advocate of the innovation economy by uniting CEOs and Senior Executives with leading policy makers in a bipartisan effort to sustain and advance America’s global leadership in technology and innovation.

CoSN, the Consortium on School Networking, was founded in 1992. According to its site: "the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) is the premier professional association for school district technology leaders. CoSN is committed to providing the leadership, community and advocacy tools essential for the success of these leaders."

iNACOL: The International Association for K-12 Online Learning, is a non-profit organization that facilitates collaboration, advocacy, and research to enhance quality K-12 online teaching and learning. According to its site: "iNACOL strives to ensure all students have access to a world-class education and quality online learning opportunities that prepare them for a lifetime of success."
