Zeal Coaching is an online tool that provides students with online one-on-one math tutoring. It allows teachers to assign math assessments to students and track their progress while they receive tutoring from an online tutor for incorrectly answered questions. It is available at a per hourly usage and monthly rate.
APPROACH
Teachers begin using Zeal Tutoring by entering their email address and creating a password to create a profile. Once logged in, teachers follow prompts to enter in student information and create a class from their ‘Create a Class’ dashboard. From their ‘Exit Ticket’ dashboard, teachers then select an exit ticket by grade level, subject, and standard and assign it to students. Teachers then distribute the class code, which can be found in the top left hand corner of their home dashboard, to students.
Students go online and enter in the class code to begin their exit ticket. From the website homepage, they enter in their class code and begin the exit slip. Students have 10 minutes to answer questions in a ‘race’ style. Students earn coins for correctly answered questions. At the end of the allotted time, students view their results and standing in the class ‘race’ on the left, as well as the top three performers for accuracy on the right, and amount of coins earned. Students have the option to talk with an online tutor via two way audio and a shared virtual whiteboard about questions they answered incorrectly.
From the Exit Slip dashboard, teachers can view student performance on each question updated in real time. From their ‘Reporting’ dashboard, teachers can see detailed reports of each student’s tutoring session.
