Users download the game for free on their mobile devices, and can immediately begin playing. Users navigate a 2D world, stopping to work and make money (simple spatial logic games), incur costs for food, shelter, and fun, and interact with embedded avatars.

Thrive ‘n’ Shine also provides curriculum to teachers using the product in school. The game is designed to be played either in the classroom, or as homework for students.
