SUMMARY
Story2 helps students plan, organize and write college admission and scholarship essays. Their EssayBuilder product guides students through a research-based essay writing process, while their College Essay Planner helps students keep track of the various components of their college applications. Story2’s services can be purchased in three different packages, one free and two paid.
APPROACH
With a free account, students receive unlimited access to Story2’s online collection of stories, plus access to general essay writing tips. Students also get to try Story2's EssayBuilder platform for one essay. This tool guides students through a step by step neuroscience-based essay writing process in which students tell personal stories out loud and then transform them into compelling essays. The EssayBuilder process begins with a quiz to help students select an essay topic. Next, students are prompted to orally record the story they wish to tell, rather than first writing it out. EssayBuilder then guides students through how to structure their story and finishes with advice on how to connect with the reader.
Story2 offers two different paid options. The first option grants students unlimited use of EssayBuilder as well as an opportunity to receive feedback from an “essay review expert.” The second option includes a one hour online coaching session in addition to unlimited use of EssayBuilder, written feedback for one essay, and access to Story2’s collection of stories.
IMPLEMENTATION
Story2 is browser based and works on desktop, mobile and tablet devices.
