SnapMath offers a on-demand service for students looking for help on K-12 math homework (up through calculus, and excluding statistics problems). Students snap a photo of the math problem and send it to the company via text, email, or through the website. A certified tutor will respond within the hour with a personal video (similar to Khan Academy videos) that show step-by-step how to arrive at the solution.
The company charges users on a per-month basis, depending on how many questions he/she expects to send in each month. Students are only allowed to send in questions during non-school hours (4 to 10 pm PST, Sunday through Thursday) so as to prevent them from using the service during in-class exams.
