SchoolBuilder is a mobile app designed to enhance and simplify communications between administrators, teachers, students, and parents about the entire school experience. Using the SchoolBuilder app, administrators can send out pertinent school information, teachers can create and share curriculum and content information with students, students can complete assignments and stay organized, and parents can stay informed about their student’s school community and experience.
Users of SchoolBuilder engage with one another on seven different platforms within the app: Mobilize, Learning Center, Studio, Gadget Labs, Field Trips, Sports & Clubs, and Safety.
Administor users begin SchoolBuilder by creating an administrative profile. Using the Mobilize platform, administrators can send out announcements, updates, information, and calendars to the entire school network. Via the Safety platform, administrators can also communicate about the safety policies, and procedures of individual schools or the district and quickly report information about emergencies to authorities, parents, and teachers.
Teachers using SchoolBuilder create a teacher profile and connect with administrators, students, and parents. Teachers use the Mobilize platform in the app to stay up to date on school and district administrative notifications. The Learning Center tool consolidates all links to digital resources in a simple view for teachers, which is then shared with students. In addition, educators can use the Studio console to synthesize other technologies such as audio files, eBooks, and images to deliver individualized lessons to students. Teachers use the Gadget Labs platform to peak student engagement in STEM by assigning project-based and flipped classroom activities. Within the Field Trips interface, teachers can plan all field trip details and share participation information with students and parents. From the Safety module of their profile, teachers can also see all school procedures and responses for emergencies.
Student users experience SchoolBuilder by making a student profile wherein all pertinent school information is displayed in a streamlined interface. Through the Mobilize platform, students have access to the school operating software directly from the app as well as access to coursework and assignments on any mobile device through Studio. Student users also have the option to have hands on coding and STEM experiences using the Gadget Lab section and participate actively in field trip activities in the Field Trip section. Information about all their extra curricular activities are accessible in their profile on the Sports and Clubs platform.
Parents begin using SchoolBuilder by creating a parent profile from which they can then directly receive school information and notifications through the Mobilize platform. Parent users can also view logistical informations about their student’s upcoming field trips on the Fieldtrip platform and view all information regarding student’s extracurricular activities on the Sports and Clubs component of the app.
