Adventure game to learn coding using visual programming language

Run Marco! is an adventure game for coding using visual programming language and is designed for grades 2-5. Pricing information was not disclosed. As of August 2015, students can play the game, but the level editing and student performance overview features for teachers is still under development.

Teachers can use the levels provided by Run Macro! or create their own levels through Run Macro!’s tool. Lesson plans can also be included in the levels so that teachers may produce curriculums for specific grades. As students play the game, Run Marco! can present teachers and parents a graphical form of the student’s performance.

In order to control their character, students drag and drop functions such as “move one step forward” and “repeat” to form a series of actions. Students then press the play button to see how their character reacts to their code. They may keep modifying their code until they successfully meet the goal of the level. Besides playing the game, students may also create their own levels.

Run Marco! is available on any modern browser, and runs on native iPad, Android tablet apps.
