Usage: I would use this product for college-going assessment prep, practice, and review. ACT, SAT, and AP coursework and supplementation seem to be the strong suits that Shmoop showcased best!

Strengths: Very funny, warm, inviting material and interface. This would take the dry lecture-based prep classes off the table and provide a more personalized and engaging platform for our students.

Suggestions for Improvement: 1. I would build a connector / facility for NWEA's MAP assessments (widely used nationwide)
2. I would expand SBAC Prep module(s) from grades 8 and 11 to include all other pertinent grade levels.
3. I would invest in APIs to connect directly with SIS (eSchool, Aeries, Powerschool, etc.)

Verdict: Our efforts to provide appropriate, adequate preparation for reluctant learners to excel on college-going assessments have met with lackluster results. Shmoop fits our demographic, their age group, and their level of need for flashy, humorous, interactive solutions.

Usage: Districtwide professional development; basics for new teachers/subs, rounding out skills for experienced teachers, etc.

Strengths: Research based, customizable, good credentials, excellent way to address tech pd

Suggestions for Improvement: Not a criticism, but wondering how frequently modules are updated, or new ones added with new applications

Verdict: Customized for teachers; self-paced, comprehensive, great admin analytics tool

Usage: The Redbird personalized PD platform provides professional development for teachers that is self-based and organized into short bursts. With different modules available for some of our highest priority initiatives, we could reach more teachers around our district while modeling a blended learning approach that they could apply in their own classrooms. With analytics, we could track usage and growth. While the modules are of interest to my department and relevant, the limited number could make it harder for us to pursue other local PD initiatives. I look forward to finding out more and to seeing this company expand its offerings.

Strengths: Blended learning about blended learning!

Suggestions for Improvement: More module choices
Privacy policy explanations
Student equivalent

Verdict: I like the concept and the package and the offerings seem to be of high quality. The limits on the module topics might force hard choices at the expense of other local initiatives.

Usage: I would use it to provide professional learning for teachers to assist with skill development in blended learning.

Strengths: It is visually appealing and is backed by research. It solves the problem of single workshops and no data as to whether the information was ever adopted. It gives teachers a reference and others to talk to.

Suggestions for Improvement: Cost could be lower
More classes/topics

Verdict: Teachers need granular information for integrating technology in their classrooms and Redbird would assist with indentifiable skills and lessons.
