Mary, Teacher. School Type: Elementary School

full starfull starfull starfull starfull star Advocate

Usage: I would use it at dismissal as well as during the day. I would know if there were changes to dismissal for individual students. Parents would be able to send changes via text.

Strengths: It solves the problem of having someone picking up student that is not listed as to pick up student. It would omit having students leaving with someone that is not the pickup person.

Suggestions for Improvement: 1. I would add a scanner to double check those students that have restrictions as to whom to pick up student.
2. Adding pictures of individual picking up student.
3. Warnings

Verdict: Simple, we wouldn't loose children! We would know before hand if any students would be going home through a different route: different person picking them up, etc. I believe that losing students would be a lesser percentage if not zero.

Gifted And Talented Coordinator And Teacher, School Type: Elementary School, High ELL Population, Low Income Population, Project Based School

full starfull starfull starfull starfull star Advocate

Usage: I would use this product to streamline and simplify our dismissal procedures and keep all kids safe at the end of every day.

Strengths: This product streamlines dismissal procedures online so parents can check in for dismissal when they get within a certain perimeter near the school. All online, great communications among teachers, front office and parents. Safety for all kids' dismissal.

Suggestions for Improvement: I would add a visual icon way for little kids to recognize their own name being called. I wouldn't change much else. Maybe if I used it for a bit I could give better feedback about good changes.

Verdict: I would recommend it because it seems like it would be simple to use and easy for teachers, admin and parents. It would keep all kids safe and make dismissal go smoothly and quickly.

Mechele, Teacher. School Type: Elementary School, 1:1 Devices

full starfull starfull starfull starfull star Advocate

Usage: This app would help with security on campus and allow me to teach and not manage children's personal schedules.

Strengths: It is real time data that we share with the stakeholders.

Suggestions for Improvement: I would like more targeted dismissals, PK has their own dismissal that operates separate from the rest of the school. I also would love if the parents were notified where the bus is on its route with an approximate ETA.

Verdict: I can't think of a reason, except student privacy.

Sonia, Principal. School Type: Elementary School, High ELL Population, Low Income Population, College Prep School

full starfull starfull starfull starfull star Advocate

Usage: I would use this with teachers and parents for safe dismissal

Strengths: it solves the chaos of dismissal; the safety of students is crucial and we want to ensure parents are at ease with where their child is

Suggestions for Improvement: I don't believe i would change anything at this point since i didn't get to hear or see all that the product had to offer; i would like for a representative to come to our school and train our staff

Verdict: the safety of all students

4th Grade Teacher, School Type: Elementary School, Low Income Population, Project Based School, 1:1 Devices, BYOD Devices, Blended Learning

full starfull starfull starfull starno star Advocate

Usage: I think that if I were an elementary to middle school teacher i would definitely use this program because it is easy to use for student and teacher, and it allows instant information to student and teacher about how well a student is performing and what weak areas, if any, there are. I wish I would have had something like this growing up! I think one cool way it could be used would be to serve as an after-school tutorial "filler" for when the teacher is working with someone else on something, the student - even if he/she was not specifically in tutoring for math help - could practice math skills while waiting on the teacher to assist him/her.

Strengths: As I mentioned before, this helps school staff manage dismissal and gives more time for staff to focus on other tasks. The front office will receive fewer phone calls. The teachers will receive fewer phone calls. This increases productivity and focus for office staff and teachers. With indoor dismissal, projecting names instead of having to call out for students will decrease the volume in what's usually a noisy environment. With decreased noise, perhaps dismissal is less stressful too.

Suggestions for Improvement: Please add more dismissal time options. I'm not sure if dismissal status can be printed for substitutes, but if we're allowing parents to update at the last second, substitutes would need to be notified. Devices are not always available for subs. I'm not sure if the system includes a map of the school with dismissal zone information but some schools dismiss from different sides of the building.

Verdict: It's super easy to use and it is FREE! How can you say no to that???

It will bridge gaps in communication for last minute dismissal changes. It will help improve the workflow across the school. Office staff will answer fewer messages about transportation changes and they'll have time to attend to other tasks. Teachers will get fewer interruptions during instructional time because they'll just pull up the dismissal app and updates are in real time. The GPS detection system that's set up around the school makes sure that parents queue up in line when they area actually near campus. This system records and stores dismissal data for documentation purposes.

Bradford, Innovative Specialist. School Type: Elementary School, Middle School, Low Income Population, BYOD Devices, Blended Learning

full starfull starfull starfull starno star Advocate

Usage: I see myself using this for my end of the day dismissal process. It would used in the front office for bus communication and car riders it would be displayed in every screen in the classroom.

Strengths: It gives instant data from all devices. Theres no need to check if busses have left because teachers can check the dashboard.

Suggestions for Improvement: I would like the option of just calling the bus numbers and not having the child name and bus displayed. I feel that that is too confidential. I would like to have teachers emailed a report in the morning and afternoon of any changes that need to be made. The dashboard is great but most teachers prefer to only go one place to get their information. It is easier to have teachers view emails right now, but it is also good to have that dashbord option as well. Right now our district uses eschool so the program's information would need to seamlessly blend in with that program

Verdict: I would recommend the product to help streamline dismissal and have instant data for administrators and district supports above principals. This would cut down on constant checking and calling over the intercom.

Teacher, School Type: Elementary School, Blended Learning

full starfull starfull starfull starno star Advocate

Usage: I would use this product to create a more organized, quieter, easy dismissal process.

Strengths: The tool would solve the crazy dismissal system we currently have in place. It seems pretty straight forward and easy to understand. The hard part will be educating the parents on the new dismissal procedures.

Suggestions for Improvement: It would be great if it could track and let teachers know the student did get off the bus. I don't think it should track if a student is picked up from extend a care programs or after school programs. It should just track the students being dropped off.

Verdict: I would recommend our school use it because our current dismissal process is very disorganized. It is very easy to loose track of a student. It is even hard to keep track of the bus riders and if they made it on the bus. As a teacher you never want to get a call asking is Bob was on the bus. It would be nice to a system to help make sure every child makes it home safely.

Prek Teacher, School Type: Elementary School, Low Income Population, College Prep School

full starfull starfull starfull starno star Advocate

Usage: This app would be great for dismissal periods.

Strengths: This product has a great vision and seems as though it would really help in the dismissal process school wide and district wide.

Suggestions for Improvement: I would highly recommend an ID scanning feature and and open communication pathway for the school and parents. It should also have a feature where student pictures or icons can be added and customized to make this app more user friendly.
I would also recommend a feature where parents can access this without wifi.
My concern is that many parents do not have access to technology so this may be an unrealistic app for title 1 schools.

Verdict: This app seems helpful ideally however I am concerned about the execution and accessibility for parents who do not have smartphones or limited data.

Candelaria, 5th Grade Teacher. School Type: Elementary School, High ELL Population, Low Income Population

full starfull starfull starno starno star Neutral

Usage: It is not a product that is created for an individual teacher, but for a group/campus to use. I am beginning to see in my Title 1 campus more apps used by both teachers, administrators and even parents, but most parents don't even check their students grade progress on our parent access cloud.

Strengths: I was really impressed with the location Perimeter restrictions when the parent is able to get access to having the ability to pick up.

Suggestions for Improvement: More teacher classroom friendly. Help me dismiss my own student applications, so I can give this to the subsitute to use to eliminate problems at dismissal after school.

Verdict: I will ask my principal if this would help with the Pick Up Area. We are improving with Pick up designations. It would probably solve our after school programs with dismissal or with students that stay for after school activities (ex. tutoring, art club...)
I am speaking of course at an elementary level experience.

Veronica, Teacher. School Type: Elementary School, High ELL Population, Low Income Population

full starfull starfull starno starno star Neutral

Usage: My school is a Title 1 school. Most of our parents don't have a smart phone, some don't even have a phone. The cost of at about $3000 per school is also not accessible for our campus.

Strengths: This program really makes dismissals easier for teachers and safer for students and parents. It defenetly solves the cayous at the end of the day and a faster way to get parents and students in and out at eased.

Suggestions for Improvement: This is a great tool. I would not change a thing but unfortunately our school is not ready technology wise to make this change although it sounds a great way to dismiss students at our school.

Verdict: I would recommend this tool but unfortunately our school community doesn't have the technology needed to use it. The app sounds lovely but the lack of funds our school have is not realistic. As well as the lack of technology awareness at our school.
