Usage: OTX is an amazing program that works with families to make sure that they can get technology at home. They provide a great support system and wonderful team to help facility a Tech Fair

Strengths: The OTX program provides free computes to families who are new to internet, and do not have a device at home. This is going to allow students to continue their learning at home when the did not have an opportunity to do so before. Since families are asked to attend a Tech Fair they are well informed on what their students are working on in class to help support them at home.

Suggestions for Improvement: It would be great to see if we could do a post survey to determine what the device is being used for at home. Also if there is a problem with the device it would be nice for OTX to create workshops for common troubleshooting issues.

Verdict: I would recommend this program because working in a low in come district our families do not have technology at home to use, but OTX is helping to solve that problem. They are providing great opportunities for families to continue their learning at home.

Usage: I work with a school that is over 50% socioeconomically disadvantaged. The access to computers at home is not known to me, but I know that it is not where it needs to be. This service could help bridge the gap for my students. Internet and computer access is essential to today's students, and this can help. I would want to inform my students' parents of this.

Strengths: It is not necessarily a product rather a service so I am not sure this question is applicable. If enough parents advocate and sign up, the technology gap would be decreased.

Suggestions for Improvement: 1. It seems to cater for Oakland School District so maybe have another branch outside of that area
2. Not sure if there is a website but how to qualify is somewhat confusing
3. Maybe have staff from the company come to low income neighborhoods to advocate for this service.

Verdict: I would recommend them to use this service because not all students have a computer or internet at home.

Usage: We encourage our parents to use OTX west as a resource to obtain low cost internet and computers. We need our parents to have computer access at home in order for students to use programs.

Strengths: This is an amazing and cheap opportunity for students and parents to get cheap internet access and computers.

Suggestions for Improvement: Make it easier for parents to obtain computers--more events throughout oakland and at our school

create a contest for schools to help parents see the value of access at home

Have more workshops at more schools

Verdict: OTX West is a great product for our parents. We need to spend more time advertising and encouraging our parents throughout the year to use it. I would like to have a a tech fair at our school. We talked about many ways to expose parents to this resource.

Usage: This product is not available for my district.

Strengths: This is a great service and Joel was very helpful in helping me to find other free/reduced resources for our low income families.

Suggestions for Improvement: I would love to know more resources that might be available in other bay area counties. Many low income families could access resources if they knew where to find them. Thank you.

Verdict: I would not recommend this service because it is geographically limited to the EB.

Usage: They provide computers for low income families and put them in schools. They also service the computers if they are having problems.

Strengths: They have gotten better at making sire their computers have the latest software. It solves the problem of not having access to tech in your classroom. It also gives access to families who would not have it other wise.

Suggestions for Improvement: I would hope that they will get more funding so they can get newer computers and more people to help them.

Verdict: They provide computers and laptops for free for families who need them. They also have them for school through grants and other resources.

Usage: Not offered in Peninsula

Strengths: This is a great concept that needs to be expanded throughout the Silicon Valley to all the ill privileged schools.

Suggestions for Improvement: Not avail in the peninsula

Verdict: I think getting free computers in the hands of our families would really eliminate the cost of buying a computer to complete basic homework assignments.
