Combination K-12 LMS, data warehouse & classroom Management tools

Overview

Otus is a learning management system that incorporates classroom management features, curriculum, and assessment all in one place. Teachers use Otus to organize their classroom by taking attendance, posting grades and assignments, communicating with parents, and monitoring student performance. It is free for students, families, and teachers.

APPROACH

Teachers begin using Otus by creating an account, logging in, and entering in all student information by class in their ‘Classes’ dashboard. Once set up, teachers can take attendance, record participation, give student recognition, and message parents and students from the ‘Classes’ dashboard. From their ‘Bookshelf’ dashboard, teachers can upload lessons or create lessons using an Otus lesson builder template. Teachers assign quizzes and other assessments from their ‘Assessment’ dashboard, and poll students by using the Otus poll builder in their ‘Poll Dashboard.’ From their ‘Analytics’ dashboard, teachers select which classroom assessment and content provide they use in their classroom such as Khan Academy or EduSync and track student assessment and performance through Otus-generated visual graphics. They apply filters such as ‘Standards’ or ‘Grade’ to view specific performance data.

From their student profile, students view assignments, complete assessments, and take polls. Using the messaging tool, both students and parents can message teachers. Parents also view student classes and assignments from their ‘Bookshelf’ dashboard. District leaders and administrators can view individual schools and classrooms, as well as view aggregate performance data for the whole district from their ‘Analytics’ dashboard.

PRICING

Otus is free for students, families, and teachers. Inquiries about district pricing options can be made on the website.
