onTRAC (Online Teacher Resource and Assessment Community) offers a web-based platform that allows users to quickly create formative assessments via "drag-and-drop" from an extensive content bank. Users can create and upload their own questions, or choose from over 75,000 items created by NWEA (the Northwest Evaluation Assocation) that are aligned to both state and Common Core standards. Interactive Achievement, the parent company, also maintains its own bank of 35,000 items written by content specialists which it refreshes regularly. The platform offers testing content for math, English, history, and science, all aligned to state and Common Core standards
Assessments can be delivered online to students via the onTRAC platform, or printed out. Regardless of how the assessments are completed (paper, iPad app or online) results are displayed in real time via a dashboard that allows instructors to drill down by class, subject area, and other filters. (Bubble sheets can be scanned through a scanner which is an additional cost to schools, but the company expects to offer additional options, such as scanning with an iPhone or iPad, later during the 2013-14 school year.)
According to the FAQ, onTRAC has been "implemented in over a hundred districts across Virginia, South Carolina, and Indiana."
