SUMMARY
Number Worlds is a McGraw Hill Education product that teaches Pre-K to 8 students Common Core aligned math concepts. The program, which was designed to help close achievement gaps, consists of an adaptive digital platform through which students progress through a collection of exercises as well as other digital resources like eBooks and online games. Number Worlds is available through an annual per teacher license.
APPROACH
With the Number Worlds online program, students practice specific math skills after first taking an assessment to gauge their math competencies. Skill practice is done through practice problems, math based games, and real world application. For example, students can apply math skills to a cooking scenario in which fractions must be used to measure ingredients. Number Worlds also includes non-digital resources for students to practice Common Core math concepts using Project Based Learning.
As an intervention program, Number Worlds gives teachers insight into students’ strengths and weaknesses through a dashboard as well as through separate progress reports. Furthermore, Number Worlds helps teachers form lesson plans tailored to individual students.
IMPLEMENTATION
Number Worlds is browser based for both desktop and mobile devices.
PRICING
Teachers can license Number Worlds for $39.99 per year.
WHO IS USING IT
Number Worlds is used by over 25,000 students.
