Lola is a tool that helps students with executive function difficulties focus on their work by breaking down their multi-direction assignments into simple, single tasks. It allows teachers to create and send students these assignments and communicate with them on their progress. Lola is purchased for entire school use.
APPROACH
Teachers use Lola by visiting the website and registering. Once registered, they enter in the information for students who will be using Lola in their class. They then create Worksystems by entering in multi-step assignment directions in single steps, called tasks, and sending them to students. Teachers can create timers for the Worksystems, allowing students to move through the directions at their own pace, but in an appropriate amount of time.
From their student profile, students complete steps of the Worksystem. Their progress is marked and reported to the teacher.
Students and teachers can privately message each other through the messaging function of the app.
PRICING
A Lola license costs $2,500 per school, annually.
WHO’S USING IT
As of March 2015, Lola is being BETA tested by small number of selected educators in Los Angeles.
