Learning Bird is a web-based application designed to provide teachers and students a library of over 15,000 lessons aligned with their curriculum or textbook. Educators can search through the library for additional teaching approaches created by other certified instructors, and students can use the library as extra practice and lessons outside of class. Learning Bird requires a plan purchase.
Learning Bird was designed to provide multiple teaching approaches for a given topic, and promote self-directed independent learning for students. Learning Bird’s cloud-centric database of over 15,000 digital resources that are aligned with local curricula, textbooks, and standards. All lessons were created by certified teachers in distinct mediums including PowerPoint, video, images, and songs.
Searching for relevant lessons in the growing library can be done in four ways: keyword search, subject search, textbook search, and curriculum search. Teachers and students can further specify their textbook search by selecting chapters and even page numbers, and Learning Bird will identify lessons relating to the topics in that search. If a certain textbook is not listed in the library, instructors can notify Learning Bird, and it will be added. Learning Bird’s curriculum library is strictly aligned with Common Core Standards, and is checked monthly with each state standard for accuracy. In addition, students can rate lessons as “helpful” and “not helpful,” which Learning Bird uses to understand how each student learns and provide recommendations on potential lessons. Learning Bird also tracks students’ progress in recent activity reports, activity summaries, and a graph of individual progress.
Learning Bird is a browser-based application that requires an online connection to use. It is mobile optimized.
