GOALS:

Jumpido is a series of math games that harnesses the motion capture capabilities of the Microsoft Kinect to make learning math more active and engaging. The product was designed to make learning math more fun while keeping kids active and healthy.

APPROACH:

Teachers initially select a topic or concept and then choose a game within that theme for the students to play. Kids will use their gestures to solve problems or puzzles. They can work collaboratively with their classmates or compete in class challenges. As students complete puzzles, the games will get harder and harder, adapting as they progress through the material.

IMPLEMENTATION:

Teachers will need a Microsoft Kinect and a projector or screen in order to use Jumpido in their classroom. The active nature of the games requires the motion tracking capabilities of the Kinect, and they won’t work without it.
