Overview

Interactive Cases by Cogent Education are pre-made, supplemental virtual case studies where students role play scientists to solve problem scenarios. Students are put into a scenario where they must use the scientific method and content knowledge presented in an attached lesson prior to solving the case study, to solve a problem such as healing a sick animal or a damaged coral reef. Students make observations, collect and analyze data, form and test hypotheses and communicate their findings. Interactive Cases have assessments embedded throughout the scenario, and instructors can see a formative assessment heat map showing how students are progressing throughout the case. Instructors can use Interactive Cases with fully online, blended, or face-to-face formats.
