Funexpected Math

GRADES / Elementary (Grades K-4), Pre-K
PLATFORMS / Web Browser, iPhone App, iPad App

What comes to mind when you are told about math learning for kids aged 3-7? Most adults think about numbers and counting. This is unsurprising because the standard curriculum is focused on numeracy skills. If you delve deeper, some parents remember logical problems. And parents are the main driving force and influence upon what kids learn aged 3-7. The Funexpected app team decided to change this attitude towards math for early age children and so developed the Funexpected Math app. Kids aged 3-7 progress in geometric and spatial skills, train their understanding of patterning, use logical thinking, create algorithms and play with flowcharts, experiment with and build on their previous experience, acquire a deep number sense, understand the basics of division, practice numeracy and much more. Every mathematical concept within Funexpected Math is presented via working game mechanics and stunning visuals so that kids become genuinely interested in playing to learn and become comfortable with mathematics from an early age. We are living in a fast-paced world and the pattern of education has changed. People are shifting to life-long learning and changing their interests and career paths several times throughout life. This is why the app doesn’t teach children stand-alone skills, rather helping children to cultivate various types of thinking and improve a more vast range of learning skills. Our curriculum is wider than Common Core Standards. We aim to include the latest developments in the mathematical education field. To do this we collaborate with educators and scientists in different countries (US, UK, Russia) to bring the latest developments in math education field into every family.
