Flocabulary provides educational music videos and related activities geared toward K-12 students via a web-based library. Educators and parents use Flocabulary to creatively teach a wide range of topics. Flocabulary is available on a subscription basis.
GOALS
Flocabulary provides educational music videos and related activities geared toward K-12 students through their website. The product was created to supplement classroom instruction in math, ELA and other subjects through highly engaging content, with the ultimate aim of closing academic achievement gaps.
APPROACH
Through a digital subscription, teachers and parents can instantly access all of Flocabulary’s content. Flocabulary’s videos, which are organized by subject, use educational hip-hop songs and visual aids to teach specific lessons, like how to divide fractions. These lessons are designed to both introduce and review important topics, while also helping students to draw connections between different subjects.
Each video comes with a series of interactive activities intended to improve students’ retention of the lesson. Specifically, lessons include fill in the blank exercises, opportunities for students to write their own educational songs, and Common Core aligned activities and games. Flocabulary’s vocabulary program also includes assessment resources, which can be used to determine subject mastery.
To help educators best use their products, Flocabulary offers onsite training for larger districts and a PowerPoint training deck for smaller organizations. In addition, Flocabulary offers teachers guidelines on how to adapt curriculums to include Flocabulary content.
IMPLEMENTATION
Flocabulary is accessible on any modern browser, and works best on either a desktop or laptop.
PRICING
Flocabulary offers a 30-day free trial, which leads to several monthly and yearly digital subscription options.
