Flink Learning (“flink” means “bright” or “clever” in Norwegian) is a Web site launched in 2007 by longtime education software developer Maestro Learning, whose American founder lived in Norway when he was younger. Flink Learning allows students and their teachers or parents to access thousands of learning activities (FlinkPlay) and create and share their own customized versions in an online community (FlinkMake). Searching by grade, subject, skill and topic yields simple Flash-based activities, many of which feature the same big-headed purple characters, the Flinksters.
A free subscription covers many of the basic features, while a $50/year premium subscription also gets you access to additional activities, more activity templates, custom audio, and the ability to build customized online communities within the larger community.
