Students explore and apply how Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones) are used and function. Through a series of activities that support inquiry and hands-on learning, students will develop an understanding of how drones function and the real-world purposes for which they are used. Students will integrate algebraic thinking, programmatic knowledge, and use case scenario abstraction to control drones. Students learn how to program drone flight through coding in the TelloEDU application. This course teaches practical skills in piloting, drone safety, autonomous flight, design, programming and ethical operations, all the while improving student perceptions of STEM studies and their own STEM identity.
