Educanon enables teachers to create engaging lessons with online videos and check student understanding in real-time with embedded assessments. Teachers, schools or districts can purchase the product for $80 per teacher per year, and it’s available through any browser or the native iPad and iPhone apps. As of December 18, 2014, Educanonhas been used by over 100,000 students and teachers in almost 100 schools.

GOALS:

Educanon enables teachers to create engaging lessons with online videos and check student understanding in real-time with embedded assessments. The product was designed to help teachers make interactive lessons for students and help them the flip their classroom.

APPROACH:

Educanon lets users build lessons with interactive timed questions and videos. In this way, video becomes an active learning experience through time-embedded formative assessments and digital content. The platform uses any online videos, including YouTube, Vimeo, and TeacherTube. Student responses can be automatically graded, digested and presented to students to guide remediation or next-day teaching strategies. Early EduCanon adopters are using the tool to flip their classrooms by embedding commentary and checks for understanding directly into videos.

Teachers and students can access the app through any browser or the native iPad and iPhone apps.

PRICING:

Teachers, schools or districts can purchase Educanon for $80 per teacher per year. They also bundle content or modified content units as one-time purchases.
