DOCit is a tool for pre-K to elementary school teachers to capture and organize information such as notes, videos and pictures based on their observations of students in the classroom. The product was designed to quicken and simplify the documentation process. Pricing for DOCit was not disclosed.
APPROACH
Once logged in on DOCit, teachers can upload and combine different types of files such as videos, pictures or notes of their observation of students onto a single document in DOCit. Captions and descriptions can be added to each media file within the document. Templates by DOCit are also provided to help teachers structure their documents and reflect new information when revised.
As of September 2015, Canadian provincial curriculum for grades K-2 is embedded inside DOCit. This enables teachers to attach corresponding outcomes/expectations in documents to demonstrate what was learned by the student. Other attributes such as learning skills or competencies can also be linked to the document. For an overview of individual students and entire classes, summaries are automatically generated by DOCit.
Teachers may share documents in DOCit with students or their colleagues for feedback. Students can then comment their reflections on the document. Teachers may also print/export those documents to share with parents.
IMPLEMENTATION
DOCit is available on any modern browser.
