DigiExam is a browser-based digital exam writing tool developed for teachers and students from middle school to higher education. Teachers have access to various format options when creating an exam and can organize a collection of exams for future use. DigiExam requires a license to use.
After creating an account on the DigiExam website, teachers can begin creating exams. To begin, teachers customize the title, course, description, and style of the exam. Teachers can then begin adding questions based on the different styles which include multiple choice or text questions. Teachers control answer types, word limits, the point system, images, notes, etc. In addition, teachers can copy the format or previous questions entirely and format it without starting the process over for every question. After an exam is finished, teachers select which class to assign it to. During the exam, the teacher can view who is taking the exam, who is finished, how much time has elapsed, and control when to end the exam all in real-time. Exams can be saved and grouped according to the teacher’s preferences for future use, and shared among teachers.
Students download the application and sign in. After signing in, they can insert the exam code and begin taking the assigned exam. Students have access to various tools while answering exam questions including drawing tools, grid tools, inspector tools, etc. After completing and submitting the exam, the teacher will be able to see when the student submitted, his or her score, how many words were used, etc. The teacher can respond to questions as well.
DigiExam is browser-based and available for these operating systems: Mac OS X 10.8 +, Windows XP SP3 + and Chromebooks.
DigiExams usually cost about $20 per student per year. However, the price depends on the program, district, or school. There is a 2-month free trial for teachers.
