Course Hero is an online database of supplemental study resources for students such as notes, lesson plans, interactive flashcards, major test study guides, and literature guides. Students can browse the database for resources, receive online tutoring, and take complete online courses. A free version is available for all users with premium purchase options.
APPROACH
Students begin using Course Hero by creating an account and logging in. They then browse Course Hero’s homepage for study resources such as tutoring, interactive flashcards, or online courses.
To receive online tutoring, students select the ‘Tutors’ dashboard and follow prompts to upload a specific study document, question they need help with, and provide a price quote for the tutoring session. Tutors are notified of the question and respond accordingly.
To access interactive flashcards, students select the ‘Flashcards’ dashboard from their homepage and browse the library of digital flashcards sets by category, title, or term. Students create their own flashcards by filling in templates.
Students also browse the library of full online courses by subject matter and and complete them by watching instructional videos.
WHO’S USING IT
As of August 2016, over 10 million students and teachers are using Course Hero.
