GOALS
Common Curriculum helps teachers and schools adjusts to the CCSS and makes lesson planning easier and more collaborative, reducing the burden of giving and getting feedback in real time. The product was created out of frustrations with the limitations of the available tools schools and teachers used to plan units and sync with colleagues on lessons.
APPROACH
Common Curriculum is designed to be incredibly flexible and to help teachers save and re-use as much material from week to week and year to year as possible. The drag and drop functionality of the weekly planner allows teachers to adapt lessons on the fly, and the various weekly, monthly and yearly templates let teachers save what works so they don’t have to start from scratch every unit. Teachers can make these templates available for their colleagues, and their school leaders can offer feedback on those proposed units. Teachers can also access all of the Common Core State Standards, dragging and dropping the relevant standards onto a particular topic for that week.
IMPLEMENTATION
Common Curriculum is available through any browser on a desktop or mobile device. All of the collaboration is done within the program itself, so teachers, school leaders and district administrators don’t need to have used Microsoft Word or Google Docs in order take advantage of the product.
PRICING
Common Curriculum is free for teachers to use. If schools or districts want to collaborate with groups of their teachers, it is available for purchase by school leaders or district administrators for $99 per teacher per year. This includes access to unlimited files, lessons and unites, classes, collaborators, training and customized groups.
