Caddell Prep is an online tool that allows teachers to assign students math problems and track their achievement. On the website, students answer math problems and view video tutorials for explanations and correct answers. Caddell Prep grades student work and reports individual or aggregate student achievement data to teachers. Subscriptions are available for purchase at a per student-user rate.
Both student and teacher users begin using Caddell Prep by providing login information and opening their account. Once logged in, teachers can scroll through their homepage to create a new assignment. From a drop down menu they select which subject-- fundamentals, algebra, or geometry-- they wish to create an assignment for. They then select the desired assignment by choosing from the assignment drop down menu. Assignments are chosen from a library of already created, common-core aligned problem sets. Teachers then enter in the date the assignment is due and click ‘Assign to Class’ to send it to students. Teachers scroll further down on their homepage to view recent assignments. Here they view individual student performance on the assignment, overall grade, and aggregate average score by question. Teachers have the option to view past assignments and generate a visual graphic report of student scores by entering in benchmark dates. Caddell Prep then generates a graphic representation of individual student scores during that time.
Student users view and complete assignments by going to the ‘My Assignments’ tab on their top menu. They select which assignment they wish to complete and proceed to answer the math questions. At the end of every question, students have the option to select the next question or view the answer. Caddell Prep will tell the students if they answered correctly, provide the right answer if they answered incorrectly, and then show a brief tutorial video on how to do the correct work and find the right answer. Achievement and progress through the assignment is recorded and sent back to teachers for assessment. To see their stats and overall performances or grades on assignments, students can select the ‘My Stats’ tab on their menu bar. To practice for the SATs, TACHS, and SHSAT exams, students can select the ‘Test Prep’ tab and begin a series of practice questions provided by Caddell Prep.
A teacher account serving 35 student accounts costs $8.00, per month. For 100, 150, and 250 students, the price increases to $10.00, $12.00, and $14.00 per month, respectively.
