Storytelling app that allows students and teachers to create stories or presentations based on photos.

30hands Mobile is a storytelling app for the iPhone or iPad that allows students and teachers to create stories and presentations based on photos, images, or slides. Students or teachers can take photos, upload photos already on their device, or download images from the internet and add them to their storyboard. In the app, users can drag the images into place or remove them as if they were applications on the homescreen of your device. Students or teachers can then record audio over the entire slide show or image by image. These presentations can then be uploaded to your device or synced to 30hands Cloud, the 30hands browser-based online and blended learning platform.

30hands mobile is free and can be downloaded from the App Store. 30hands Learning also offers workshops to help teachers implement their products, including one on digital storytelling in the classroom that utilizes their mobile app.

30hands Learning was founded in 2012 by Eric Braun, a seasoned edtech entrepreneur, and Carmen Ferrara, a successful developer with business experience. The company’s focus is to develop tools that enable collaborative, social learning with open digital content. 30hands mobile was released in early 2013, and had accumulated more than 5,000 teacher users and 10,000 student users by October of 2013.
