Lumina Foundation Innocentive Challenge
Apr 30, 2013
Lumina Foundation seeks a solution to help prospective students at community colleges access key information about potential courses of study. Unfortunately, neither the academic counseling capacity nor the online information provision at most community colleges and other open-enrollment higher education institutions are formatted in such a way that this information is easily accessible. Descriptions of areas of study, degree programs, course requirements and pre-requisites, course schedules, time and cost information and materials/books are all in different locations on most community college websites. Lumina is offering up to $100K in total awards for fully-coded examples of a front-end user interface for deployment by community colleges. The key requirement is that the interface should be organized and presented in a way that focuses on meeting the information needs of students who are exploring a range of avenues of study.
