Dec 10, 2019

SchoolSpire, a Plano, Tx.-based developer of a K-12 instructional management system, has been acquired by Mentoring Minds, a provider of critical thinking resources and teaching materials for K-12 educators.

Founded in 1999, SchoolSpire offers a suite of digital tools used by school leaders to manage curriculum resources, administer assessments and track results for reporting purposes. The company also offers a bank of question items.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mentoring Minds said it will spend the next three months integrating its critical thinking curriculum and assessments onto the technology platform developed by SchoolSpire. Mentoring Minds, based in Tyler, Tx., has served 1.3 million students and more than 5,000 schools, according to a spokesperson.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, other than that SchoolSpire’s staff will all join Mentoring Minds. SchoolSpire’s founder and CEO, Muhammad Wasay, will be chief technology offier at Mentoring Minds.
