Flush From Recent Stock Offering, 2U Acquires Annotation Tool Critiquelt

Jun 21, 2018

ACQUISITION SPREE: Online education program developer 2U has acquired Critiquelt, a digital annotation tool. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Critiqueit co-founder Ashley Bradford will be joining 2U as Senior Vice President of Product to help integrate the companies’ softwares. Based in Long Beach, Calif., Critiqueit’s peer review and annotation platform is already used in a majority of 2U’s online degree programs, according to a press release.

2U’s latest purchase comes shortly after the publicly-traded company raised $331 million through a common stock offering earlier this month. Part of the company’s hope with the added cash would be to acquire more companies, and more are expected to come.
