Flashnotes Raises $1.8M for Studying Marketplace

Oct 27, 2012

FLASHNOTES: $1.8 million to Flashnotes in seed round led by Atlas Venture and Softbank Capital, with a school of angel investors also participating, reports TechCrunch. The Boston, MA-based startup provides an online marketplace where students can buy and sell class notes and related materials. Sounds pretty cool, but it reminds us of the fuss reported earlier this year when California's UC and CSU campuses attempted to punish students for selling class notes. The question's still unresolved: who owns copyright to notes taken in class?
