Coursera, Antioch University Agree to Award Credit

Oct 30, 2012

FIRST IN LINE: Los Angeles-based Antioch University announced it's won the race to become the "first US institution to offer credit for MOOC-learning through Coursera" that will count toward its four-year bachelor's degree. InsideHigherEd takes a closer look at the numbers behind the deal: Antioch will pay Coursera to use courses offered by its partners; Coursera then gives 6% to 15% of those revenues to these partners, in addition to other stipulations. It wasn't too long ago when everyone wondered how these MOOC providers were going to make money; now it looks like licensing content to others is looking more and more like a viable option.
