Texas Kicks Off Blended Learning Challenge With 75 Districts

Aug 10, 2015

LONE STAR STATE SHINES FOR BLENDED LEARNING: A new project led by nonprofit, Raise Your Hand Texas, announced 75 semifinalists schools (PDF) in Texas that will be vying for $2.5 million worth of grants to implement blended learning pilots in their districts. Representatives from these districts will attend a two-day blended training workshop, after which they will refine and present their plans. More details here.

The five winners will be announced in April 2016, and each will get $500,000 to implement their blended learning models over the following three years. Expect to see more digital learning efforts this year in Texas, whose governor has made digital learning one of his key education priorities.
