Oxford University Press Acquires Epigeum, Developer of Higher-Ed Courses

EPIGEUM: EducationInvestor reports that Oxford University Press (OUP) has acquired Epigeum for approximately £10.7 million (US $16.3 million). As part of the deal, Imperial Innovations, a company that specializes in commercializing UK academic research, sold its 17.8 percent equity stake in the company to OUP for £1.9 million. Founded in 2005 as a spin-off company from Imperial College London, Epigeum has developed 78 online courses on teaching, research, leadership and management used by 230 universities in 37 countries.
